As this school year comes to an end, I congratulate everyone for their contribution in making this year a success. The commitment to excellence from our staff, parents, and students has allowed us to finish the year strong. During summer break, please remember that it is important to continue to focus on your education so that you are prepared for the 2025-26 school year.
Have a fun and safe summer!
~Mr. Sledge
Children have more free time in the summer, which allows parents to create stronger connections and keep their children engaged. Below are some tips that can be used over the summer months to keep your family active and having fun. (from Kumon.com)
Schedule fun: Together with your children, create a summer list of activities that your family would like to do together. Put it on a calendar... this will give them something to look forward to.
Resist the urge to over schedule: Having a routine is important, but it's also important to allow time for unstructured downtime.
Set aside time each day to do something fun with your child(ren): The smallest activities can have the largest impact.
Encourage your child(ren) to try something new this summer: New activities encourage brain development and build your child's focus and creativity.
Limit technology: Get outside and play. If it's too late- replace the screen with reading and trips to the library. Books open the imagination and creativity in every child.
Create structure and set boundaries: In the summer months, children are freed from the structure of school but they need the security of knowing that some things will remain the same.
At Snyder Park we will increase the number of students (K-6) reaching their stretch growth from 22% to at least 33% and our student-led experiences will also increase from 0 to 2 by the end of the school year.
